Increased use of solar energy for power generation, water heating and heating for buildings leads to reduced dependance on fossil fuels.  Applications for solar heating are on the threshold of efficiency.  In the coming years, they will make a meaningful contribution to CO2 reduction in construction technology.

Taking into consideration the relevant experiences from research into solar energy, RHEINZINK develops products and methods of power generation through light rays, as well as domestic utilization of solar heat, which is absorbed through metal surfaces.

With RHEINZINK-Solar PV, standing seam and click-roll system, RHEINZINK offers the optimum combination of ecological solar power generation and designer roof and façade architecture in the two conventional seam techniques.

Photovoltaic thin sheet-solar modules (UNI-SOLAR) are fixed to individual QUICK STEP panels using durable, full-surface adhesive technology. The durable bond of the modules to the RHEINZINK material has been tested by the Test And Research Laboratory and is distinguished by its strength and its exceptional resistance to moisture. Without mechanical wear and tear and emissions, the solar cells convert sunlight into direct current by means of semiconductors.

Installation is proven and simple:
RHEINZINK-Solar PV, standing seam and click roll system can be installed on all roofs and facades from 3", analogous of a normal seam and roll cap covering, without additional fasteners and double the installation costs.  Individual roof components are connected only by two electrical plug connectors. Several solar modules form a powerful solar generator, which is connected to the converter(s) or the public power supply system by a professional electrician.

In Germany and Luxembourg, photovoltaic equipment is supported by a great number of government subsidy programs. Apart from low interest loans, an investor can also be compensated for supplying energy (Renewable Energy Law). In addition to its ecological advantages, the RHEINZINK-Solar PV standing seam is also impressive from an economical point of view.

Power generation even in low light conditions and little solar radiation through thin sheet metal technology. QUICK STEP - solar PV is another innovative component module, which complements the proven stepped QUICK STEP-roofing system with photovoltaic energy extraction.

Just like a normal stepped roof, QUICK STEP - solar PV, in proven system technology, can be installed quickly and simply on all roofs with pitches between 10° and 75°. No additional fasteners are required to fasten the panels. Prescribed profile geometry of the panels allows for optimum installation from the ridge to the eaves. Without having to inspect the solar modules, the roof installer connects them with a plug-in system. The connection of the photovoltaic equipment to the converter(s) is done by a professional electrician.

In addition to the economic and ecological arguments, also justified by government support, QUICK STEP  - solar PV, also gives particular consideration to the aesthetic aspects.  It is a successful combination of ecological solar energy extraction and modern roof architecture.

QUICK STEP -SolarThermie is the heat supplying, architecturally top-quality solar solution from RHEINZINK. Modified panels of the proven QUICKSTEP - roofing system absorb the sun's rays and/or ambient heat, conduct it to a liquid circuit and convert it into heat.

Thanks to the advantageous heat conduction and absorption properties of the RHEINZINK material, the non-glazed modules, in suitably adapted domestic technology and in combination with suitable heat pumps, allow continuous energy extraction even in cloudy conditions or in the winter.

This is how small and large buildings can be supplied with all the heating and hot water they need via heat pump systems with QUICKSTEP - SolarThermie as a natural source of heat.  Other applications for the aesthetic high-quality collector technology are effective heating of swimming pools, or pre-heating water for industrial buildings with high water demands. The possible applications of QUICK STEP -SolarThermie as an emission area for cooling buildings are currently undergoing research.

The installation technique for solar thermal roofing is QUICK STEP technology: All components of the proven and effective QUICK STEP technology can be used, down to the revised system battens. Existing QUICKSTEP roof surfaces can be easily transformed into absorber roofs by replacing the panels and fasteners.
