RHEINZINK

The BMW headquarters in Midrand north of Johannesburg were planned and constructed in the mid-1980s. About 30 years later, the building had to be renovated. It was important to preserve the original concept, which was designed to prevent the production halls from creating negative environmental influences. Hans Hallen, a South African architect and urban planner, was responsible for this concept. When Hans Hallen visited the site in May 2016 at the age of 85, he too was delighted by the modernisation and quality of the building he had once designed. A total of 22.5 t of RHEINZINK titanium zinc in the RHEINZINK-prePATINA blue grey quality were used for the project. You can find more details in the project report that can be downloaded on the left.
