A different take on the single-family home: in Johannesburg, South Africa, is a single-family home that looks like a small city at first glance. This is because two larger and a few small pavilions are grouped around a lawn. However, a closer look reveals that this is a residential building for one family.
The buyer of the sharply sloped property wanted to create a single-family home with a family room, living room, kitchen, children’s rooms, bedroom, swimming pool, separate office and a separate guest suite. The architect thus developed a building divided into multiple pavilions that features the outlines of an urban ensemble. For the roof and facade, 347 m² of RHEINZINK titanium zinc with the RHEINZINK-prePATINA surface quality in blue grey were installed. The double standing seam system was applied for the roof and the angled standing seam system for the facade. You can find more information in the project report that can be downloaded on the left.
